Watu Wetu SAS, WW SAS in acronym, is a company under Congolese law operating in Kolwezi, capital of the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the main activity of managing a medical service for businesses and A training center. WW SAS serves the companies Kamoto Copper Company SA and Mutanda Mining SARL which are its main shareholders.

The company covers the medical care of all employees of these two companies as well as their family members.

WW SAS comprises three facilities, namely Watu Wetu Clinic in Mumi, Watu Wetu City Site and Watu Wetu Hospital in KCC. With additional services provided by third-party healthcare facilities for employees and dependents located in Lubumbashi and Kinshasa, as well as those referred for specialized treatment not available in Kolwezi.

Watu Wetu SAS provides health services to a population of approximately 70,000 people.

Job Description

 

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Ambulance , the post holder will be required to provide emergency and medical transport services, working collaboratively with the medical team to meet patient needs.

 

He will have, among other things, the following responsibilities (non-exhaustive):

  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during transport.

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization and readiness of the ambulance at all times.
  • Ensure the safe and timely transport of patients to the appropriate medical facilities, following the transport regulations that govern the Glencore Group.
  • Work closely with the medical team to ensure patient comfort and safety during transport.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies and unforeseen needs while maintaining patient confidentiality and respect.
  • Strictly adhere to traffic and road safety rules, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Focus on customer service by providing safe, comfortable and efficient transportation while meeting the specific medical needs of patients.
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions on plans and strategies to be taken.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain and improve driving skills.

 

     Job requirements.

 

Qualifications and experience

 

  • Be of Congolese nationality.
  • Hold a Professional Aptitude Certificate or an equivalent state diploma.
  • Having a diploma in Long Cycle or Short Cycle mechanics is an asset.
  • Have at least 3 years of professional experience as a driver.
  • Having some knowledge of first aid is an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer tools.
  • Have a valid national driving license.
  • Fluency in French, Swahili and English is an asset.

 

Technical skills.

 

  • Safe Driving: Advanced mastery of defensive and safe driving techniques, particularly in emergency situations where every second counts.
  • Knowledge of Vehicles, Ambulance and other types: Ability to use and maintain specific equipment on board the ambulance, such as stretchers, communication systems and emergency medical devices.
  • Know how to use IT tools.
  • Basic First Aid: Knowledge of first aid and ability to provide immediate assistance to patients while waiting for the medical team to arrive.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (exchanges, reports, etc.)
  • Be able to keep mobile equipment clean and be able to report a fault on your equipment.
  • Being able to pull out indexes and checklists is updating them.
