Mutanda Mining "MUMI S.A.R.L" is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 57, Avenue Lusanga, Biashara District, Municipality of Dilala, City of Kolwezi. Its headquarters, center of its main activities, is located more or less 42km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo. "MUMI S.A.R.L" is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydro-metallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant. MUMI is recruiting a " Software Systems Engineer "

Main objectives of the position

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Software Systems Engineer, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for coordinating all operations to improve the reliability of the operations control system at the MUMI production plant. He / She will also be responsible for the optimization of signal loops, communication systems and remote-controlled processing devices.

Minimum qualification

• Possess a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, or a similar field.

Required Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an engineering role.

Required skills

• Interpersonal, written and verbal communication. Fluency in English would be an asset.
• Attention to detail.
• Analysis and resolution of problems.
• Time management and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities

• Improve operations by performing systems analyses,
• Recommend changes to policies and operating procedures,
• Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback,
• Determine operational feasibility by analyzing, defining the problem, requirements, and proposing solutions,
• Develop engineering software,
• Identify faults on DCS systems, control, and maintain engineering server systems, as well as plant PLCs.
• Contribute to the identification of faults through a practical approach to testing electrical circuits and panels,
• Read and understand electrical drawings and suggest improvements,
• Follow safety, health and environmental procedures and protocols to achieve expected results
• Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
