Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Main objectives of the position

 

Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Superintendent-Fleet Maintenance Planning is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring maintenance activities for mobile equipment.

He/she ensures the availability, reliability and compliance of equipment, compliance with maintenance schedules, international standards, legal requirements as well as the achievement of performance objectives and key indicators (KPIs).

 

Minimum qualification 

 

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of professional training and experience in Mobile Plant Equipment.

 

Required Experience

 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Maintenance of Mobile installations.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Supervisor.

 

Required skills

 

  • Strong project management and planning skills in a mining environment.
  • Proven knowledge of budget and cost control in a mining environment.
  • Significant experience in managing contract maintenance work teams and specialized maintenance service providers.
  • High communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to make confident presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Strong training and mentoring skills and ability to build an effective team.
  • Demonstrate conceptual skills and be able to develop lateral and practical solutions.
  • Adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time.
  • A reputation for integrity and ethics.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Experience with CMMS programs, preferably AMT and SAP.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that all data captured in AMT is correct and accurate.
  • Develop functional work plans, timelines and objectives for the work unit, based on strategic directions and ensure their achievement through ongoing monitoring.
  • Manage planning and schedules for each position and collaborate with the Asset Reliability and Integrity team for planning and scheduling throughout the mine lifecycle.
  • Actively contribute to the department's strategic planning process.
  • Develop and implement short- and medium-term planning and scheduling strategies to minimize the maintenance backlog, using effective component condition monitoring techniques.
  • Ensure that key performance indicators (KPIs) are defined, tracked, and used for continuous improvement of maintenance and planning practices.
  • Prepare operating and capital budgets in a timely manner for each fiscal year.
  • Assist the Manager of the Mobile Equipment Department in the preparation, monitoring and control of the budget, to ensure compliance with the budget and forecasts of the MUMI operation, and report to the management any discrepancies as well as necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure that reports meet required standards and are completed and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Asset Reliability and Integrity team to continuously review equipment maintenance strategies to ensure optimal performance and cost control.
  • Oversee the requisition of all parts, the disposal of unserviceable parts as well as the classification of recoverable and reusable parts related to repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory inspections of the equipment.
  • Ensure that tyre and rim management complies with MUMI's procedures and standards.
  • Promote and comply with appropriate internal methodologies, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Consistently maintain a high quality of work in all assigned functions.
  • Ensure that all administrative functions and duties associated with the position are carried out and completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Comply with Glencore’s environmental management requirements and procedures, as well as MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
