Main objectives of the position
Under the direct supervision of the shift supervisor, the pump attendant will support in the distribution of fuel.
He/She will ensure that all operations relating to fuel safety, users and distribution are carried out efficiently, accurately and in accordance with current safety procedures.
Minimum qualification
- National diploma or its equivalent.
Required Experience
- A minimum 2 (two) years of experience in a similar role.

- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- High sense of integrity and responsibility.
- Ability to comply at all times with instructions given by supervisors with respect to fuel control operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Physically verify the readings from the main meter and compare them to the readings from the previous station prior to any pumping operation, and report any discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
- Inspect the work area prior to the start of each shift.
- Distribute fuel only to authorized equipment with approved fleet numbers.
- Ensure that the amount of fuel received from the supplier and the amount distributed to the equipment is properly recorded and signed in the fuel records.
- Complete fuel records accurately and consistently at the end of each shift.
- Accurately record refueling hours, equipment fleet numbers, machine operating hours, and dispensed liter quantities.
- Ensure that equipment operators sign for the fuel received, indicating their service number.
- Report any theft, loss of fuel or other company property immediately to the supervisor.
- Store and dispose of contaminated waste oils, filters and materials in designated containers.
- Keep refueling areas clean to minimize the risk of soil and water pollution.
- Use equipment and pumps correctly to limit fuel loss and vapour emissions.
- Comply with Glencore’s environmental management requirements and procedures, as well as MUMI SARL’s environmental policy.
